From what ive read on these forums not much difference.I think i7 is good for video editing,i maybe wrong though:o

nah your right, video editing and 3d modelling etc will be helped by the 2600K.

saints spec looks fine as well OP, do you need o/s, keyboard, mouse etc

I've got the OS and other peripherals already, just the core system is all I'm aiming at MP. Not sure I'd need a blueray drive as this will be just a programming / gaming machine lol.
I'm coming from an amd 955 so anything better than that CPU wise will be great.

Would you recommend 2x6950 or 1x570 or perhaps even (dare I say) a 580?

personally, if you can afford it go with the 580,you could go with dual cards cheaper and better performance than a 580, but its a single card so you could sli it later if you needed the extra punch.

nothing wrong with looking at the 6950/6970/570 tho all very nice cards.

drop anything out of saint's build that you don't need, add a 2tb samsung f4 drive for storage and swap the gfx card of your choice and your sorted.

cheers guys, much appreciated. Will look up a few benchmarks on the cards i'm looking at and mix and match a few things here and there as suggested above :D

Great advice as usual chaps. thanks!
