£1200 build please

Hi guys,

Looking for a build , max cost is £1200

main use is gaming

No monitor, No os, and no mechanical HDD needed but a SSD will be needed.

can someone throw a good build up please, haven't been on in a while just seen socket 1151, skylake and ddr4! so a tad lost. All help appreciated

Is there a particular colour case or theme you might like? What resolution is the monitor?
 
Hi guys, thanks for first build,

no peripherals needed. And I'm open to colour schemes, I really like the NZXT 340 / h440 cases, built a pc for a friend who had one and I was blown away with how nice they are and how tidy and clean they keep everything looking.

resolution is 1920 * 1080

Thanks for the build stulid,

is it worth dropping the 980ti to a 980 and swapping the mboard cpu combo for an i7 equivalent?

ive seen a few games recommended spec's put on an i7 (such as mgs TPP which I'm playing)

I currently have a i7 3770, would the new i5 skylake out perform it for gaming?
 
If you already have one of those then Skylake isnt a big jump forward, if yours is a "K" CPU then overclock it and just buy a gfx card and whatever else you need such as a SSD.
 
I was considering that option to be honest, it was my first plan. However a close family member is looking to buy a gaming pc but doesn't have a lot to spend on it, so thought I'd sell my current to them on the cheap and use it as an excuse to get a full new build :D

my current rig is around 3 years old, so timing feels right too :)

That at least helps justify the switch then.

A 980 will monster 1080P gaming if that helps save money, as for i5 vs i7 for gaming, last time I read a comparison it was very rare for an i7 to be any faster than an i5.
 
The rule of thumb I think is i5+beast GFX card > i7+lesser card for gaming.

Unless you can have both i7+beast card.
 
I trust you opinion, ill go with I5 and 980TI. 5 year warranty on registration is nice too on the card!

now just to confirm he wants to buy my current rig and away I go :)
