Hi all

Looking for a new gaming build. No os/keyboard/mouse needed. Budget is about £1200 to include base and a nice monitor (would prefer an ultrawide if poss).

Unsure if G-Sync/Freesync is actually worth getting?

Currently considering the below. Thoughts?

That monitor is eating up your budget. The PSU isn't great, you could really do with 16gb RAM and to not spec up an SSD nowadays is a curious decision. Do you really need a 1440p G-sync monitor?

Tbh I don't know. I've been reading that G-Sync is worth it - perhaps not? What would you recommend?

Would definitely lower the budget on the monitor but i'm not currently up to date on them to recommended one to you, so i will leave that to someone else. What i will say is definitely go for 16gb of ram with as much speed as you can get, the ryzen's work hand in hand with fast ram. The case you have chosen has an updated version out (NZXT CA-S340W elite) which is very nice and can be found for not much more than the original. I would definitely also get a SSD for your OS a good 120gb one can be found for sub £50 now and worth the investment.

I think you will need a bigger budget if you want to go with a 1440p G-Sync screen. Ideally you would want a GTX 1070 in there rather than a GTX 1060 unless you are fine with lowering some settings (Depending on the game)

Also the other issues mentioned by Ted are valid points.

How about this spec?
Includes better PSU, SSD, 16GB faster RAM, RX 580 with super wide monitor. (not 1440p though)

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,357.34
(includes shipping: £0.00)

Voucher for monitor
LG100

Not added a CPU cooler as the included one is good for a mild overclock going by reviews.
