For anyone who helped me on my last Thread (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18473856) I have found out I have a lot more money than I thought I had and so I have upped my budget to £1200
Same components as before, all components including case / OS as im upgrading from a crap top, but no peripherals as i have them already decided. Im going to use this primarily for gaming but I need to do a little bit of video editing.
I was wondering with this budget would it be worth getting an i7 or would it still be worth buying the 3570K and spending the extra money on other components?
I would like this build to be able to last a long time and be very upgradable if needed. Thanks to anyone who helped me before on my previous thread it was much appreciated but im afraid ill be needing new advice for this new budget but i still feel like i learned a lot from you.

i wont spec one as my spec aren't as good as most of the others here, but i build good :)

some one will be along shortly to help you sir :)

Well i want to get a new PC asap.... im fed up as hell of going down to below 10 fps on min graphics in games, not waiting till summer. If it is good i can always upgrade in about a year or so

This should be more than enough:

Memory over 1600mhz makes such little odds on the 1155 socket. The 7950 is better than the 7870

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte ATi Radeon HD 7950 Windforce 3X 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE FARCRY3, Hitman Absolution, Sleeping Dogs & 20% off MOH Warfighter PC Games £239.99

Something to ponder over.......maybe the free games also help "justify" you upping the budget as you said it was flexibubble. Heatsinks come with paste, you might need an extension for the P4/8 aux power, if you mount the PSU fan down you might well get away with not needing one though

Taken from your other thread!

The only thing I would change, may be adding an SSD, everything else look spot on.

You could afford to be a little more picky, colour coding if needed, bigger HDD and bigger/better case.

Abit like this:

The rigs Olivier and I spec'd you were very versatile. Saying you do a little bit of video encoding doesn't in my eyes warrant paying more for the i7. If you are semi serious about it then add 16GB of RAM to an i5K spec. Maybe consider a good sized IPS monitor.

Haswell isn't rumoured to land till the spring time, not sure if you can wait that long using a laptop you don't sound impressed with. I'm not doing yet another spec as basically you are just asking me to throw money at better cases, heatsinks, xfire/Sli mobos, more PSU power. As I said in your last thread you need to balance the build yourself, we tried to help you understand how to do this. If you still need suggestions I'm sure members will spec what they might buy

Not only do i not sound impressed with it i hate it. Its not just the fact that its slow its the fact that my other one which was good broke about 2 weeks out of warranty so i have to use this one, i wouldnt even give it away to someone i dislike i think that would be too cruel.

2011 is only way for quad channel memory as well i've just been told as well, not that i could afford it or even guess i'd need it, but it's faster and maybe worth having the board as another tick
option etc?

in its favor etc

A lil bit over. I would probably say a 2700K though (since I have one). + Win 7 / Win 8 I suppose. Or downgrade a few things. But that's with top components and no compromise (ecept maybe PSU for crossfire, which I think is a waste of money anyways).

Case according to taste. There are few around £100, like the Obsidian 550D, Carbide 500, but careful coz that card is long.

I'll entertain a 3770K. I don't think a 2011 will be much value to a casual user (i.e. games, and a bit of everything else).

Even if so that board is reduced from £225 to £125 so even though it is a bit overkill for what I am asking at that price I will find it hard to say no.

I would still say no :) I don't like that board much anyways. But hey, you can do that, get a 3820 (still a decent chip, like a 2700K, bit harder to overclock, no IGP for transcoding and such), get 4x4GB memory, and there you go, pretty much same performance.
