I'm going to be making the jump from my 24" 1920x1200 NEC 24WMGX3 to a 1440P monitor soon.

I'm wondering what screen size to go for, most 1440P screens are 27", though I see there are now some 24" and 25" models available.

I'm wondering if the increased pixel density would be better on the smaller screens?

I'm most interested in experiencing less aliasing in games. Would a 24" 1440P screen require less AA than a 27" 1440P screen, for example? I believe it would, but want to make sure first!

My current monitor is a AMVA panel type, I'd also welcome any suggestions of which panel type to go for next.

Many thanks :)

As per my thread im in the same boat as you. I have a 24" 1200 and looking to upgrade to a bigger screen. 24" 1440 would be terrible for my eyes. So looking for a minimum of 27"

As I see, makes sense that it would be too small on a 24" monitor.

I just calculated the pixel density, it seems my current 1200P 24" is 94.34 PPI (Pixels per Inch) whereas a 27" 1440P screen will be 108.79 PPI, so a healthy 15% greater pixel density.

Now I just need to wait for the 390X/980TI to launch, decide which vendor I'm going with then get a nice freesync/gsync monitor :)

Thanks for the help guys.

The Dell UP2715K laughs at your 108.79 PPI, try 218 PPI! . :D

Quite intrigued by the 25" Dell U2515, will have to watch a review later. I don't have the room for a 27" anymore. But yeah the text could be an issue.

Did not know that. i'm on Win 8.1 but wasn't familiar with the feature. ^_^;

Im curious like the OP; does the increased pixel density affect alialising? I assume it would but it seems even at 4K on a relatively small monitor people say AA is needed.
