120hz / 144hz 3D

Recently bought the Asus 144hz monitor.

Also got the nvidia vision 3D glasses but it only runs at 120Hz in 3D.
Not that it probably will make much difference but I thought it was possible to run it at the 144hz in 3D also?

do I need nvidia vision 2? (ball ache)

As far as I know it's only possible to do 120Hz in 3D (not sure why).

I'm sure the 3D vision spec is for all monitors to be 120hz capable.

Anything over that is a bonus for 2D gaming I suppose.

All 3D vision 2 glasses have bigger lenses in the glasses and allow an extra 20% light thru with lightboost. That your monitor has. The IR dongle is the same. You could still use the original 3D vision 1 glasses.

3D Vision (both 1 & 2) will only run at 120hz. I tried enabling it at 144hz and the control panel stopped responding.

It displays 60Hz per eye so anything above 120 is not gonna happen. You will only get the benefits in 2d.
