120hz / 60hz Duplicate/Mirror Problem

I cant for the life of me work out why I cant have my monitor at 120hz and the tv at 60hz. It was working a while ago but now its not working and I've no idea why not.

I goto the settings, click it to 120hz and it changes and thats that but now, when I do the same.. I press OK and then when I go back into it, its on 60hz again. I'm really not sure why!

I havnt changed cables or anything, I've tried old catalysts aswell and nothing is working. Its as if it doesnt even try to set the monitor to 120hz :S
 
Wow I instantly had a thought when I did this. Set the monitor to "preferred" and now it sits on 100hz happily but still wont goto 120hz :S
