120hz Laptop

Ummm excuse me for asking dumb question but how is a 120hz screen good for gaming ?

If you run on a 60Hz screen and set vertical sync to on in whatever game you play, assuming graphics can handle it you'll sit at 60 FPS...no tearing (I doubt this notebook can maintain 60 let alone 120 FPS)

Thats more than FMV, smooth playing experience ?, im not sure how playing at 120 FPS is going to feel better

edit: my only way of thinking it could be better is it's a reduced latency panel type, less ghosting / smearing... but I doubt it, and running the panel even if improved at 120Hz is going to negate any gains you made by improving the panel

Erm I'm not too sure Flukester, but ever tried playing Counterstrike at 60hz or 120hz, there is soooooooooooo much difference in#s unreal. I find playing any FPS at 60hz is just so bad even with vsync on and capped FPS.

you could nvidia 3d glasses with it!
the faster the screen the better the picture and more fluid the refresh rate. It all helps to make the game better looking.
