Ok, slightly embarrassed to ask this but here it goes..

Q1.
Are monitors that are 120Hz only 3D, and by that I mean do I have to get and wear 3D glasses? Or is it just that they support 3D games/movies?

I don't want to wear glasses while using my PC but I would like to get a great new gaming monitor and these new 120Hz monitors look very tempting.

Q2
Any recommendations? I was looking at the Benq XL2410T. Which is the best one in the 22-24" range for FPS gaming mainly?

Thanks in advance

1) no, they dont have to be used for 3D gaming and can be used for 2D applications as well. they still have their benefits for normal 2D gaming as there's a higher possible frame rate (120 fps as opposed to 60 fps). They can often reduce perceived motion blur and any artifacts as well when run at the higher refresh rate. so they are certainly good for gamers

2) The Samsung 2233RZ is highly regarded at 22" so maybe worth a look

I just received the LG Monitor from nvidia yesterday the quality of it is fantastic in terms of color and brightness compared to the TN panels we use everywhere else in the office.
Its a 23" one that also supports blu ray 3d.

Must say im a little dissapointed with the 3d atm it seems a bit flakey deciding when it wants to activate 3d or not.

RTS games are also unplayable in 3d due to the cursor floating in mid air you cant see were your clicking on the terrain :P

Turn off the crosshair in-game and turn the nvidia 3D Laser one (CTRL F12 iirc), that'll sort it. ;)

Above would be my choice, has a glossy screen which I prefer for greater clarity over the anti-glare screens.

Great screen, I'm very happy with it.

my Asus VG236HE 23" arrived this morning, hopefully wont be dissapointed. I also find being in a dark room lets me favor glossy screens.
