hi so i have a stupid problem.

i am replacing a 80mm exhaust fan with a 120mm led blue fan.

however i just cant seem to screw it in right.

the screws only go in half way and are then stuck there.

(ive tried the other screws but they are no good either.

any tips ?

I find fan screws really annoying, as the metal is too soft and you quite often end up stripping the head with the screwdriver.

Yep, you have to make sure you use exactly the right screwdriver and press really hard so you don't strip the head. Even then, they sometimes strip. :(

They are "self tapping" you see. :)

i had the same problem. its abit anoying and fairly pointless but never the less..

my method was to screw it twice forwards, then once back, then twice forwards, then once backwards.....and so on, until your totaly in.

if that doesnt work, just get agressive with it and ram it in there.

and if that doesnt work, burn the fan.

I go for the slow and steady method when I'm having trouble getting it in.

We are still talking about fan screws arent we???? :p

PK!

Take the fan out and put the screws in all the way than remove them, that way you can cut a goo thread into the plastic and when you fit them in the case you will just have to screw them in until tight.

finally fixed. i edgey's method and i managed to get all the way through.

as for the stuck screw i just yanked it out :D

anyway all done and now i have a 120mm exhaust fan :)
