Hi,

I'm after 3 fans to accompany my 360rad. preferable all white or black and white to go with my NZXT 810.

Silence is a must but with good air flow/pressure.

What do you think of the Noiseblocker NB-eLoop Fan B12-3 - 120mm

Dimensions: 120 x 120 x 25 mm
Noise level: max. 26.5 dB (A)
Speed: max. 1900 r / min
Airflow: max. 121.2 m³ / h
Starting voltage: 3.4V
Power consumption: 2.05 W
Connector: 3-pin
Life Expectancy: 140,000 hours
Warranty: 6 Years

Is it worth going for the PWm version?

Thanks

I'd say either the Corsair SP120's (Silent version) or the Gentle typhoons would be great for fans. They are special "Static pressure" fans that are designed, and tested for great radiator effectiveness.

For the typhoons, pick the 1850rpm version for silent.

The specs on the fan you linked are manufacturer specs, they cannot be trusted unfortunately.. Usually the reviews do not show the same ones.

I'm an old fashioned hold out for Akasa Apache Blacks. Brilliant PWM fans that are less than a tenner each. Both quiet and providing excellent static pressure.

Used 4 in push/pull on my H100 after being a bit disappointed with Akasa Vipers. So pleased with them, I bought a further 10 for push/pull on my new 20 FPI, 60mm width 360 and 240 rads. :)

not quite my colour scheme but thanks :)

Just found this:

GT1450 = 1,450 rpm, 21 dBA - 78 m³/h

NB12-2 = 1,300 rpm, 16.7 dBA, 86.9 m³/h

so lower rpm and noise for greater pressure.

NB- 2s look good

Seriously man, never believe manufacturer specs for fans. Unless you can find at least 2 reviews that had proper pressure and airflow testing, along with temp testing, you're going on wild guesses. They have been proven wrong many times in different reviews.

I'm not saying those fans are bad, but you can't compare them on specs only.

Isn't that the m³/h measurement?

No that's airflow, meters cubed per hour.

Generally speaking for rads, GT's are the best, SP's are almost as good but look infinitely better. I have used a variety of noiseblocker fans in addition to GT's and SP's and IMO the GT's are the best, yes they are a bit loud at full whack but you can use a fan controller or a motherboard to turn them down.

Also even if their louder doesn't mean you hear them more, a bit of an odd statement but what would annoy you more, the sound of fans or the slightly quieter constant crying of a baby? Scythe have down a great job of making sure the frequency of the GT noise is as appeasing as possible.

*EDIT*

If it helps, taken from the noiseblocker datasheet for those fans:

Versus the GT data, which I've just noticed doesn't list mmH20 /facepalm:

500 rpm: 0.015 A - 5 dBA - 31 m³/h
800 rpm: 0.023 A - 9 dBA - 48 m³/h
1,150 rpm: 0.034 A - 16 dBA - 63 m³/h
1,450 rpm: 0.049 A - 21 dBA - 78 m³/h
1,850 rpm: 0.083 A - 28 dBA - 98 m³/h

The 1850rpm does about 2.05mm H2O which beats the 1900RPM NB

In my nzxt 820 I use the 200mm fans supplied in the top and 3x xspc 120mm for inside, on 4 on the fan controller they start to get a little loud but I never need to run them full whack as temps don't get that high.

nono if you run it on rad, you want h20 pressure. obviously if your running a 1850 at half the volts you would expect to recieve around half the performance but many people state running those 1850's at say 1500rpm is the sweet spot for noise/performance (Warning GT fans are a bit dated and have NO braided cable)

Try the Be Quiet Shadow Wings, come in several different speeds.

You need to check what screw type your rad uses. If its the thicker kind then they might not fit through the mounting holes on the fans.

SP120s, job done.

They get reviewed as near as you could want to Noctua performance but quieter. What more of an endorsement could you want?

Can take the coloured rings out for all black, or put the white ones in for black with some white detail.
