Hi. Am considering buying a moped for general trips to the shops, nipping around to friends houses & occasional jaunts into the countryside with a friend who has one just to get out for the day etc.

Now his one is a retro Tamoretti 125cc and while it seems ok, I don't care much for the build quality of these. They look good but tbh I'd be worried about the thing falling apart while I'm driving it.

Now I've driven plently of mopeds / scooters abroad (Piaggio etc) and these seemed more like what I am looking for.

Can anyone spec me a 125cc scooter that's reliable & built well? Budget would be about £1000 ideally but this could increase if it's not enough to get something decent. I don't mind second hand if these are a better buy than new!

Centrifugal clutches on anything over 50CC engines means your a girl. End of.

Get a Cagiva Mito?

Or a Kawasaki KDX125?

Both fantastic bikes for the money. But are prone to getting nicked, like any bikes really.
