Can anyone tell me if the i5 12600KF retail comes with a stock cooler or not please. Getting information on PC components these days is like trying to get a straight answer from the British government.

Thanks.

Have you looked at any coolers do you have a budget ?

Thanks for the reply.

Yea it's kinda making me lose the will to live atm. I been looking for hours. I'm really around the £100 mark. But every site that the cooler manufacturers point me to don't actually sell coolers that are lga 1700 compatible. Or they offer free brackets if I can prove I own a cooler I have not brought yet. I don't understand why this is such a mess atm.

Thanks.

Basically retailers have the stock on the shelves. They don’t have the brackets as they didn’t exist when they bought their stocks hence having to get the free one from the manufacturer.

According to some manufacturers out the box coolers compatible with the new socket have been available for weeks now. That's why I was wondering why it's been so hard to find one. It just seems like madness when retailers sell a cpu that doesn't come with a heatsink but don't sell any cooling solutions for that cpu. Then the manufacturers making the coolers make a bracket that they won't actually sell but point you in the direction of retailers that don't sell them either. Corsair will send you a bracket for free once you have proved you own their product but you have to wait weeks. Cooler master offer a bracket direct but it's out of stock. Meanwhile people are selling brackets on scalp central for £20 or more. Its madness.

I ordered parts for one build from so many different companies today my bank called to tell me they think somebody's stollen my credit card. And I've not been shopping around to save money either. I would have happily bought the lot from ocuk if I could have.
