watercooled 12900k 360 rad at stock hitting 74c, all P core overclock to 5.1ghz hitting 90c and at 5.2ghz throttling at 100c. I've remounted the block a few times always same sort of result.

I get similar temps watercooled with a 9x120 external rad. 95 max on 1 core @5.1ghz all core. About 10-12 degrees between the best and worst pcore.

At 5.1ghz AI optimiser had the vcore quite high so was using 260 watts.

5.2ghz all core went crazy and was using 370 watts. Temps were hitting 110+ degrees.

Gaming is fine though, worst I've seen is 60-70 degrees.

So what kind of volts you on at 5.1/5.2ghz? Can you lower and get stable? More aggressive fan curve on aio?

1.265 any less and it would crash in a strange way all usb devices would get glitchy.

Can run at 5.0ghz at 1.185vcore but temps still 76c under full load, not sure how it's gonna be in a closed case but mu room is hot atm around 26c

Do you have a gpu in that loop? I'm only planing on running 1x xe360 and 1x pe360 for both cpu and 3080ti

Yeah I have a gpu but that was a Cinebench run so wasn't in use.

Bigger issue is the STIM/ board flexing/ flatness of the IHS etc causing these CPUs to run so hot.
The GPU stays in the 40's so loop isn't as issue.

Stock at 74 seems pretty good, no? Ramping up the speed on these just consumes tons of power. Not convinced it’s worth it IMO…
