12900K 'low power' mode? For working from home?

I just had a random thought and I was wondering if it was even possible.
I have a 12900K, 3080TI desktop computer (not laptop) - which I use 9-5 for working from home.

This is light normal tasks such as Outlook, Excel, OneNote etc etc.
Is it possible to somehow set the PC into a lower power state/mode as I don't need this thing chugging along until gaming.

OR - due to me only using these sort of tasks, will it simply use less power anyway?

It'll self manage. Just because the frequency might state a set number like 5.2Ghz, doesn't mean it's got a lot of current flowing through it.

The cpu runs quite efficient on it's own.

If you're on W11 just run windows in balanced mode. It'll power regulate itself and no you won't get any stuttering in games etc using it that way.
