12900k / z690: tech lust!

I personally haven't found a website over here in Ireland that allows me to pre-order. I used a site that is meant to scan all the big EU sites to find the item you want and hasn't shown anything for the CPU.

For DDR5 my options are G.Skill DIMM 32 GB DDR5-5200 €309.00 out at the end of Nov
Team GroupElite U-DIMM, DDR5-4800 €349.90* out on launch day
Kingston ValueRAM DDR5-4800 C40 SC - 16GB unknown launch date.

So far this isn't looking good compared to past launches. Keep in mind we have the human malware going around but still it's crap

I cannot get over how thick the RGB section of the IO panel is on the Asus Rog Maximus Hero. Cool heatsinks as well.

Lol, looks like Asus priced the discounts into the total price! You'll still be paying £140-£150 or more (including the discount), for an Asus Z690 board.

Same old tricks.

Just pre-ordered my 12900K, Asus Rog Maximus Hero Mobo and 32GB of Dominator RGB DDR5 on OCUK. Am I the only one or am I in the wrong thread/subforum?
I was after the lower timing first edition on corsairs website (dom plats) but i was double minded and now they are gone LOLOL rip

Have everything on order man it all adds up

Sapphire Radeon RX 6900 XT Nitro+ SE OC £1399
Intel Core i9 12900K £579.99
Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 A-RGB £89.99
Gigabyte Z690 AORUS MASTER £429.98
Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 2TB £230.00
Crucial 64GB DDR5-4800 CT2K32G48C40U5 351.59

I have been harassing Arctic Cooling for the past two months for an LGA 1700 mount kit
as i already have an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 to show them

Looks like this is going to be sitting boxed until arctic get off their asses and ship a kit

LOL. I actually ordered that 5200/CL36 on the Corsair Site before it went and plan to phone OCUK tomorrow and cancel the Ram part of the order.

Your better off getting the cheapest ram you can get hold of this is the 2133 of DDR4 ram
any small overclock Corsair have managed to get you can do yourself
then pickup some Crucial Ballistix 8400 in a year

but you have to go with an oem that isnt binning atm
like Crucial for example

No way im paying £300 for 32GB of 4800 binned to 5200 when i can get 64GB of 4800 for £348
that i can oc myself and as a bonus its dual rank which none of the 32GB kits are
just the dual rank will most prob be more of a gain than going to 5200 on single rank

well i hope your happy with your new set up and update with your experience when you have it up and running

For gaming, I can't imagine many situations where spending the money on a new/better GPU wouldn't get you much better results than spending £1500+ on a new CPU/Motherboard and Ram

That goes out of the window for 3090/ 6900 XT users I guess, personally i would wait for benchmarks and reviews anyways.
