I wouldn't even go that long. Faildozer era was only 5 and a bit years. Phenom II was great at first and kinda hung in there when it moved to 6 cores.

There are many reasons why people may buy one.

1. Yes epeen
2. Cooler running system for a given clock speed
3. A faster system overall
4. The imc also seems to be better in the top end minority, brilliant for ram tweakers
5. Extreme benchmarking
6. Possible sale for profit, see #5. They can go for silly money if proven to be good.

6-9 months is too soon, they should release KS earlier, now it is better to wait RPL than buying this.
