is 12931 marks 05 good score for opty170 and 7950gx2? just ran it

That score is spot on. I remember gibbo saying the score over 12k..

with opty at 2ghz i only got 11134 then i tried with opty at 2.5ghz then got the 12931 i havent got the best stepping opty but i hit 2.5ghz so easily ill clock it tomorrow to max then try,then on a colder day ill clock the gpu lol(too hot in my room lol)

3D Mark has always loved the CPU as far as I'm aware, and the fastest processors out still bottleneck single graphics cards like 7900GTXs and X1900XT-Xs so it makes sense that what is basically an SLi GO 7900 system would be CPU-limited.

Yes but with 2x the score doesn't double you know, around 12-13k is about right for a GX2.

im almost at 17k now and it isnt easy to get there

That score is bang on the money. My 7900gts got about that at stock speeds with my CPU at 2.8ghz.

(sorry for hijacking your thread mate)i get 11980 in 3d mark 05 with to gt is this any good bearing in mind they are still at there stock speeds and as of yet have not been oc is this good because i am a complete noob with 3d mark scores thank for your help guys

Yep, that's about the right ball park with that CPU. With a bit of modest overclocking you should be able to knock on the door or 13-13.5k even with any volt mods.
