I've been pouring over reviews for a new tv and I've had my mind set on a LG B8 65inch for £2300. However, with a viewing distance of over 12ft I've seen articles saying 4k is pointless as you won't be able to tell the difference. I would have to go to 85inch and over. I'm not going any higher than 65inch on an OLED as the price increase is ridiculous.
Does anyone have recommendations? I've spied a Samsung UE82NU8000 (82inch) for £2800 but I can't find reviews and cannot even see what panel type it is.

I will mainly sit in front of the tv but i do move positions and there is a second sofa that is perpendicular to the first so I was worried about VA panels.. How bad are they really when off angle?
This will be for Netflix, movies, and gaming via PC.
Current tv is a 42inch Bravia IPS panel and the blacks are awful on it with lots of bleed so I imagine most things would be an improvement.

I haven't gamed at 4k before so maybe it would be a blessing if I got the 65inch and kept it in 1080p mode where I could game at 120hz with all settings maxed out?

Fwiw I sit around 15 foot away and think a 60 is too small. For TV watching it's fine, but games can be tricky, mainly for type ones. Next time I'll be going for a 75 (even if the with thinks it's too big lol).

What tv do you have now and what res do you play at?

I was excited about getting an OLED for the picture quality and the HDR which I have never seen. This Samsung apparently has mediocre HDR and is a VA panel so pic quality isn't as good.
