hi ive recently done a rebuild after installing my usual quad kit 4x4gb i found the slot c1 to read abnormal in bios only running 12gb done all tests and the slot is faulty
anyway its not a problem i need to run more than 12gb ram due to my work
my question is if i install 2x8gb dual channel or 3x8gb tri which will be the best in performance.

i7 4930k R4BE

my current 3x 4gb kingston hyperx savage are fine using xmp 2400mhz will the 3x 8gb work the same.

thanks

Go for 3x8GB in real life you probably couldn't tell the performance difference between Dual or Tri channel if you want the extra 8GB.

Dual channel is better for benching over Tri channel.

Can't you get the Mobo replaced via RMA?

If not, there'll be little noticeable difference between the two setups, so go for as much ram capacity as you need. :)

thanks for reply was not sure about a tri set up as most people are dual and quad,
not really into to benching just like peak performance for work and gaming.

thanks
