12gb ram question

Ive currently got:

G.Skill 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 NQ PC3-12800C9 (1600MHz) in my PC but want to get 6gb more (the board has 6 mem slots)

Can I just get any other 1600mhz 3x2gb pack or will I run into any problems?

Motherboard is: Asus P6T Deluxe Intel X58

I would normally try to buy the same brand and model, especially if you're getting it new (no reason not to). It's just one less thing to go wrong/compatibility issues etc.

What are the timings on the GSkill stuff? Something like this 'should' work fine with it.

ive left it all at stock in the bios (along with the cpu) as I dont really know what to set it all as

Ok then it should work, as long as the brand of memory you get has no problems with your chipset. There are several cases where OCZ didn't work well in Asus mobos, and from personal experience Corsair Dominators wouldn't play ball in my DFI X38.

Virtual machines, large photoshop files, CAD/modelling, Video Editing...... the list in endless.
