3dmark 06 is supposingly cpu limited

my E6400 @3.2Ghz paired with a 3870 and 2GB ram gets 12k, so that might be a little low TBH as 3Dmark likes quads.
there should be a 3Dmark06 thread around that has a whole load of benchies with similar rigs, might be worth a look.

yeah, that's about right and it's definitely the CPU limiting him. Is he running Vista? I get 13.5k in XP with everything at stock and as soon as i overclock my quad, i get nearly 17k
