12th gen and I know nothing

I've tried 5.1 I can get past 10 loops for cinebench but get a crash in OCCT

I'd like to know what Gear 1 and Gear 2 do on the memory, I've done some googling but soon as I use gear 1 I'm pulling the battery on the board to try and get it boot again.

Been having a little play with overclocking myself as there doesn't seem to be much in the way of guides, tips etc.

Anyway, in my case using the Asus Strix gaming D4.
LLC 4
XMP profile 1 (not sure the difference between 1 & 2)
Sync all P Cores 51
Sync all E Cores 39
Left voltage as auto, gave me 1.34 under load.

Only managed a few runs on 3dMark but seems fine so far, will try lowering voltages until it falls over.

That does look very good, well done.

If you get chance could you check out my latest post in the official AL thread in the CPU section and give it a go.?

If not, no worries and enjoy your rig ☺

You might be able to apply an offset voltage of a negative value.

AFAIK Gear 1 is a one to one setting between the memory controller and memory clock. Gear 2 is to set the memory controller at half the speed of the memory clock.

So if you have 3600Mhz RAM and used Gear 2 the controller would run at 1800Mhz.

I wonder if it's power related? I'm running the Ultimate Performance power mode in Windows 11, I disable all stuff like sleep etc.

I shall try it though and see what happens.

Thanks. Sleep does not affect how the PC runs, in terms of varying it's range of speeds. But it is not returning to full P Core speeds on resuming from sleep.
If you get the chance to try that in the other thread, great.

I see you needed to buy another AIO, a Corsair one.
Somewhat frustrating but you are up and going now.

Yeah had to order something ASAP as I have zero patience lol, I'm mighty impressed with the Corsair H150I elite Capellix though, looks great and the cooling performance is fantastic.

Just going through some of the bios settings, came across resizable Bar, is it worth switching this on?

UEFI Bios on, CSM support off and Resizable BAR on BUT with GPT used and not MBR for your boot drive. Otherwise your Windows will not boot.

Some titles seems to make some use of the BAR function, but free is..........................free :)

Activated resizable BAR, like you say, free is free, wasn't sure if there were any issues with it that could hurt performance hence me leaving it off until now.
