12th gen z690/z790 support bifurcation?

bifurcation possibly on intel platform I was looking into getting a pcie 4 way m.2 card but can't find any answers if it will work. Wanted to use something like the asus hyper m.2.

It is pretty hit and miss depending on BIOS implementation and the 12th gen is even more limited than 13th and 14th gen CPUs. For something like the Asus Hyper you need a spare x16 slot (or not using the x16 slot for a CPU) which most 600/700 boards don't have.

I'm not using a gpu on the board it's just a storage server and want more m.2 storage

I think Z690/Z790 is max 2x M.2 slots (8 lane/8 lane), but X670 can do 4: 4/4/4/4.

On their Hyper M.2 page, Asus even say you can do 4/4/4/4 on an A620 board

Oh, for the board in your sig?

You have a weird slot I've never seen (dimm.2) that can add 2x M.2 slots, but not sure where you would get one.
