12th oct? New iMacs?

Surely there should be at least an hardware update: CPU & GFX?

I mean what is the latest in CPU tech now and is the iMac matching it?
 
It's using i5/i7 Sandybridge iirc and mobile versions of 6750/6770/6970 so it's a gen behind, but still decent performance CPU wise, less so on the GPU front.
 
I think the Dalrymple 'yep' means the 23rd! I'm not so confident now. A friend said it was definitely iMac - but maybe this fabled shrunken iPad will be the big release. Let's not forget that they did say 2012 would be a BIG year... to date its Mountain Lion and iPhone 5.. hmm!

I've got the top spec 21.5" iMac from the mid 2011 range.... and its perfect for everything I do.. Would be nice to see the range refreshed though!
 
Been waiting for these patiently since the summer. Getting less patient now. Rumor has is theres going to be an announcement on Oct 23rd to release the iPad mini, 13" MBP retina and new iMacs.

I guess if thats the case we'll get an announcement soon.
 
The report also claims that the new iMac's screen is glued to the front glass of the machine, in line with previous rumors stating that Apple is moving to fully laminate the two components together for improved display quality.
