4-pin ATX12V Power Cable
8-pin EPS12V Power Cable

Which one should I use for the 12V ATX connector next to the CPU?

My Asus P5B DLX can accept the 8pin or 4pin but I'm not sure which to use?

Thanks

Use the 8-pin then, will help with the CPU at 3.6Ghz I think.

At the moment with my Hiper 480W I only have the 4pin connected (it only has the 4pin). I was only asking because the Corsair HX Series 520W Modular PSU I'm going to get has both the 4pin and 8pin.

What does everyone else use?

Thanks

i've got a corsair 520 and gigabyte ds4, i only use the 4 pin atm, would it actually make a difference if i used the 8 pin? would my o/c's be more stable or what? would the cpu be hotter?

Unfortunately I can't say for absolute certain as I don't have 8-pin +12V on my mobo but I'm just saying I would use the 8-pin if the mobo has it.

TBH it probably won't make any difference at all, but it's like the 24-pin ATX connetor, you can either plug in all 24-pin or just the 20-pin.

I can only assume the 8pin actually is connected to 2 different rails, in which case i would suspect improved stability would be the only difference

? just a thought
