Hi,

My Asus motherboard has a 4 pin rgb header, and the case that I have fitted it in is the Antec Avenger. The case comes with lighting already fixed but obviously I have run into slight problem where the case is pre fitted with argb fans and lighting. Is there a way to get these lights working? If needs be I could go down the route of replacing the fans with RGB but thought I'd ask to see if there are any solutions?

Thanks in advance.

It depends how you want to control the lights.
If you want it run from the motherboard and synced up with anything else like that, your 4-pin headers won't cut it. You need 3-pin ARGB ones.

If you're happy using a control box of some kind, there are lots of options.
I personally favour AquaComputer kit, as it ties in with a whole range of monitoring and control devices, all run by their software suite and while they (like most other brands) have their own proprietary RGB connectors, they do also accomodate standard 3-pin kit as well.
But the main reason for loving them is that their stuff all runs off internal USB headers, so you don't need any RGB headers on your motherboard.

My setup isn't really a gaming one, but I do convert video formats which heats things up a little, so I think liquid cooling maybe a bit overboard this time, I just want some flashy lights with new fans and if I can get the other ones working that would be great  . Do you have any more maker suggestions. I saw the Antec rgb fans on Amazon but wasn't sure if they were Chinese copies.

They won't be copies but you need to remove the link as its against the forum rules to link competitors

Liquid cooling is a completely separate aspect and doesn't have any impact on the control/monitoring/flashy light side.

The reason I suggested a dedicated controller, like AquaComputer, like Corsair, like CableMod, like CoolerMaster... is that they often control fans and other things as well. Plus you can transfer them to other builds if you later upgrade, as well as having options for future expansion on the current build.
The monitoring is more about your internal sensors on the CPU, RAM, GPU etc, and using that to control how fast the fans spin... and in my case alter the colour/behaviour of the lights based on things like system temperature. You can use this with air cooled just as much as watercooled.

Sorry being rather green to the subject, I misunderstood your first comment. So basically I'm looking for a independent argb controller?
