My CPU speed according to my windows 7 gadget seems to fluctuate, sometimes its "1190" and sometimes its "1401", why would this be? The laptop is running on battery but it is on high power mode :S

I have read about a potential hardware issue with Wifi/BT, but I'm not too worried tbh. It's coming tomorrow so I'll post an update. This version had no DVD drive so there is a 2.5 inch hdd in it's place leaving the 1.8 inch bay free.

Not bad at all that. Much better CPU then the 8371 but lacking dedicated gfx and has less battery life, otherwise almost identical.

Any pics?

Are you certain it has an empty hdd slot in there? I am hoping I've missed it in the 8371 :p but I doubt it. Also, it doesn't have HDMI right? If possible mate could you run Win Experience Index and possibly SuperPI just to give some idea on performance, and post in here:

This looks like another good option for anyone in the market for a 13.3" :)

Just over your shoulder
So, I think what we have all learned from this thread is the Acer make a whole raft of decent laptops, for varying specialisation.
8371, 3810 and now 3935 - all much the same price, with differing pros and cons - awesome, well done to Acer :D

Ah thank you Olivier!
So thats great news, same speed as the 1215n but £100 cheaper!
Just brought for £340, guess it might turn up on tuesday!
Exciting :) Got similar plans to everyone else, update to ssd down the line and partition the drive to allow quick boot into linux for checking mails etc.

Sorry got another question.

As far as i can tell, the 8371 uses the Mobile Intel® GS45 Express Chipset which was released in Q3'08.

Before buying a ssd for this laptop i wanted to make sure that the motherboard supports sataII at 300mbps and AHCI.

If anyone could confirm this that has a 8371 to hand? ;)

Also is there anyway to fit two hd in the laptop?

my thanks again
