13" MacBook Pro Hard Drive upgrade

If you restart then once logged back go to Spotlight and type "Console" then in the search area of Console type hdapm it should then show three lines one saying it was successful.

That means it's working

Yes, that's what my Console statement says (with the references changed).

Yes, and as you see from my comment above, I'm not getting that, which is why I'm asking for someone who's done it to give me a screenie of the Lingon configuration page so I can see where I've gone wrong.

I had that error before when I'd run the terminal command and then tried to run it again, I'd also put it in Applications/Utilities.

I'd suggest using the pkg - http://www.haque.net/software/hdapm.dmg which will install everthing for you. That's what I did after having troubles, and it worked first time.

That worked, ta.

To those who have the WD3200BJKT, why didn't you buy the WD3200BEKT which does not include the free-fall sensor?
I did, but I've still seen a load count of 32k in less than a year and get clicking. I'll report back whether this has made any difference.

I've got a the 1st model macbook aluminum, about a year old and I'm looking to upgrade the stock hard drive in it. Does this model have the same problems with regards to the shock protection causing problems with HD's as the 13" MBP?

The advice always is either to have a G-Sensor in the computer or the hard-drive. Not both.

Hence for my MBP that had a G-Sensor, I bought the Seagate Momentus 7200.4 500GB 7200RPM ST9500420AS not the Seagate Momentus 7200.4 500GB 7200RPM ST9500420ASG.

I've had no noticeable clicking from my drive since I did this and the load count has only increased by 30 or so.
