Hey guys,

Just wanted a bit of advice. Me and my gf both order the new rmbp and we want to give it some basic protection ;). I'm thinking to get a sleeve and keep it simple since I dont want anything on my device, and I tend to have a lot of things in my bag so it seems wise. She wants a a hard case of some sort.

So I wanted to know, whats a decent hard case to get, there are a few we have seen that seem ok but I have no clue what to look out for. Also I saw a few felt sleeves on a auction site which look ok and a few normal neoprene type sleeves. I'm sure the neoprene type will be much better protection but does anyone have any experience with the felt sleeves.

Also, anyone use keyboard protectors, only ask as I want to sell this one in 1-2 years, it does seems a bit bad since I understand apple has its fans below the keyboard.
Cheers.

I have an "Incase Pro Neoprene sleeve" for my 15" retina. It comes in both 13" and 15", and in several colours. Decent quality and will protect it from scratches etc - £25.00. Incipio "Honu" or "Den" are also decent alternatives that I considered.

Regarding hard cases, "Speck Smartshell case" or "Incipio Feather" are decent options.

Seems silly to put a keyboard protector on, you'll also find it will probably mark your screen when closed too.

Can second the incase, they are great sleeves.

I hate hard shells so normally use an iCarbon, gives the mac a great feel and stops scratches

Issue with hard shells is that if any dirt gets in between them, they'll cause scratches. The likelihood of this happening is relatively high for some...so if oi want to prevent scratches you're better off being careful.

The Incase sleeves are decent, I personally like the Acme Made ones though of course protection won't be the best.

Thanks for the advice guys, I tried a speck hard case today in store and we didnt really like it. We gf will try the feather and see how it goes. I'm personally sold on just using the incase sleeve really.

Thanks again.
