13 year old Power Supply

I have a Cooler Master Silent Pro 700W, I bought it back in 2008/09. I've never had any issues with it, but knowing how old it is, should I upgrade it before I get a new current gen graphics card? E.g. 3070/3080

I clean out my computer case usually once or twice a year with compressed air, have done since I had the PSU.

It will most likely run a 3080 fine but the minimum recommended is usually 750W. If you get a new one get a 750W.

Definitely time to change that ~600W PSU.
(12V output is the important number)
Second tier Teapo capacitors in secondary without any real airflow certainly aren't anymore in mint condition.

If it helps you make up my mind I think my ~15yo PSU packed up yesterday or today. Nervous wait until tomorrow when a replacement arrives and I find out if it took any other components with it (thankfully in my secondary PC).

Any special effects or just shutting down?

Also autopsy would be nice.
Even without effects secondary capacitors would be good to check.

I have another thread in General Hardware with more details. Short answer is it just doesn't power up at all, it's due replacing anyway (only 470W and lacks modern connectors like PCIE, only 2x sata power) so I'm not interested in triaging it. I think the combination of running a Ryzen and overclocking a gpu has killed it off.

Can't remember exactly when I got it except I remember having it in a house I moved out of August 2006.

Phanteks has capacitors from top tier maker.
And pretty sure you could think other use for that £5 difference.
