I'm probably just going to reuse my Antec 900 again as i can't seem to grab the Lancool K62 when i go looking for it.
Thinking I might want to add a cpu cooler as i'm not sure/or heard about the stock one with the i5.
I'm not ever likely to go down the SLI path either when i will need to upgrade
 
what will you be using the pc for?

will you be overclocking? if so you will need another cooler and also the 'k' version of that CPU

Also i would avoid using the antec 900 if you can possibly help it, that case is SOOOOO small, i have one and absolutely hate it because of the mass/mess of cables in the bottom with nowhere else to put them :(
 
change the CPU for a k-branded cpu because you can't overclock with a non-k.

a Samsung f3 will be just as fast as the hdd you chose but is a lot cheaper.

you wanna get an after market cooler really. top end would be thermalright silver arrow or budget end Gelid Tranquillo.
 
You have a GD65 with free Hyper 212+ CPU cooler. I'd grab that. Should give you 4.2-4.4GHz overclock comfortably.

Get a 2500K CPU. Couple of pounds extra.

That's an awful lot of money going for 3D gaming. Make sure that's 100% what you want and not be disappointed :)

If you want to save money a bit, go for a XFX PSU, or downgrade to 650W if you are not going SLI.

Looks nice, but as the others have said the K series CPU is the way to go. If you are looking to OC then the Z68 chipset might be worth changing to, I've found it great for overclocking (although the newer i5's don't seem to like going over 4.4GHz, even under water :mad:) so yeah.

Get the best value for your money and get OEM products too if you can, all you are missing is the box...

hellarda - I thought i had the 'k' version so thanks for pointing that out (and everyone else, d'oh!) I agree about the 900, but i want the K62 bad enough to re-build this setup when i can get a hold of one

oliver - I helped a mate build his pc for 3d gaming about 6 months ago and have been working towards this since i was that impressed

gonna look over this more over the 24hours and make my mind up then, plus its payday tomorrow and the child/wife/morgage can look after themselves this month ;)
 
Cheers guys, delivery should be today and i can't wait. Got next week off work and all so that works out well. Bought one of the Lian li cases since I waited that bit longer to fire in the order, so makes it that little more exciting. Feels like christmas again!
 
Oh, and if the OP had decided to use stock cooling he would have been disappointed to learn that the OEM i5 doesn't come with a heatsink.
