1366 X58 Xeon 5650

Which one, X5650 or?
Running almost everything on auto at 4Ghz. I think this X5670 can do 4.4Ghz with some tweaking but I'm gonna save that for the winter night when I'm bored.
I'm gonna say I feel like things are much snappier with the Xeon than my 920 @ 4ghz. The 920 needed some extra tweaking which might in fact have had negative effect on the performance.

Hmm glad I stumbled across this, thought there was life in my rig still and think this plus a new GPU might keep it going for a couple more years 
Now to start scouring for a chip and maybe this is the push to try water which I've been wanting to give a go for the last 6 years since I bought my last machine

Joined the club and swapped out my 920 for this.
920 was great but it was really struggling to get stable at 4ghz so thought id try this, given that I just had my 920 at stock to be on the safe side.
Got 3.4 without even trying hard last night, so will push it some more tonight if I have time. temps are at least 10c lower than the stock 920 with water.

What's a good price nowadays for a x5650?
Good luck getting a hold of an SR2 now
I managed to get an SR2 this time last year with no accessories for 600 off the bay from the states, currently putting it together with 2x 5650's
Also hoping to get my hands on an SRX at some point but those are going for nearly 800, CPU's are still going for quite a premium though :\
