Hi.
Does anyone know if its possible to make Vista64 & my X1650 to output at 1366x768? (the native res of my HDTV)?

Thanks in advance all. :).

1360x768 has neem added as a standard resolution now on all the new Nvidia drivers.. (took me ages to get it working on old drivers on my 6800) but now its a doddle.. not sure if new ATI driver have the same res's added as standard

Unfortunatelly not.
The nearest res that CCC will output to is 1280x768. The next one up being 1600x1200.:(.

OK BoomAM im slightly worried tomorrow

As i've ordered a HD 2600pro for my media pc already,

Upgrading from a nvidia 6800 le which did 1360x 768 easily over HDMI 1:1 pixel mapping no questions asked.

Argh!! I knew i should have gone for the 8500GT and saved the money.

Has it been shipped?
If not, you could just cancel and re-order something else?

Either way though, there must be a way of doing it.
Prehaps creating a custom monitor driver with powerstrip for the HDTV will sort it?
Might give that a try sometime in the week.

ITs shipped from OCUK yesterday,

I can't be ati don't have a way of doing this, vista is currently detecting my TV as a monitor correctly so fingers crossed it works.

right, you can output 1360x768 quite easily with your card. the reason its easy to do with nvidia cards is cuz you can access the advanced timing options and create that mode manually. but i noticed if 1360x768 mode was forced some games would not pick that rez up as being available for use.

the correct way to do it, is to create a monitor drive in powerstrip that has the 1360x768 rez as the upper max with 60hz or whatever referesh rate your screen supports. then force install that driver for your screen and the 1360x768 rez is then available for use in any game that supports it and windows runs it perfect too.
for fine tuning adjustments of the rez you can use the ccc for ati cards to shift and stretch the image around so its not distorted in any way.
im was running the 7600gs at 1360x768 and replaced it with the x1950pro for the same rez and its working brilliantly.
i think i put up a guide on how to do this somewhere on the forums with step by step instructions with screenshots but i can;t seem to find the post i made. the screen i use is the ocuk yusmart 32incher one.

oh one option, if your screen supports vda or dvi input use that insted of the hdmi connection cuz with vga you bypass the internal scaler of the tv and in my testing of 3 different screens now, a sony, the yusmart and a goodmans all provide a far superior image when using the vga connection rather than the hdmi or scart connection.

Well my TV has a single HDMI/DVI (combined) port whcih i've connected to nvidia card for a year now . TV model is LG 37LC2DB which is one the few to do 1:1 pixel mapping over HDMI.

I've never had to go do any advanced timing crap with nvidia cards, so far i've tested a Ti4400, 6800le and 7950GT

so frankly ATI suck if you need to do this, ( I hope not) I have a pc with a x1950pro avaliable so might tested it if I can be bothered.

Ati are more stable with their drivers for hdty then nvidia are from feb to july i had a nightmare with them getting my hdtc stable.
yes you might need powerstrip with ati but once i had it set up it was rock solid not like nvidia early 07 drivers they have got better the last few months.
e.g. 1360x768 was at 60hz now with nvidia newer drivers i need to set tv at 59 to get 1360x768 unless that to do with tv i not sure and that over all 3 connections vga and conponent and dvi/hdmi.

That sounds like a specific issue there, As i've said already I've used 5 years of nvidia cards at 1360 res with pixel mapping over HDMI without problems on my setup.
Clearly ATI have some catching up to do.

Only reason I got the 2600hd pro was that it was faster than the 8500gt, should have gone for the 8600gt for a tenner more and saved the trouble.

To be truthful before i got a nvidia i thought the same as a lot of people were saying about nvidia are easier to set up because of 1:1 pixel mapping and not needing powerstrip to set custom res but when i got my card it took me hours as the setting were very flakey,i found once ati were set up they were more solid for me.
I missed 1 or 2 sets of driver because they were not working right in hd mode with me, my 3 connections worked fine with ati once set up but i found hdmi got broke with one set of drivers with nvidia and resizing didn't work or the setting you set wouldn't stay so in the end i didn't upgrade drivers for 3 months.
It is funny the drivers have got a lot better since 2900 was leased

This is getting annoying.

I created a custom monitor with powerstrip, but windows, although it picks up the monitor name i gave it now, it wont give me the res i selected.

So i looked around, and theres a generic flatscreen 1360x768 resolution driver built into windows, used that, still cant get it to goto that resolution!.

I think my TV supports thats res natively otherwise i'm surprised it worked on a 5 year old ti4400,

It detects the TV name as a Digital display and 1360 is the max supported res,

I hope for my sake that the problem BoomAm is having is due to his TV not the graphics card cos i simply can't believe ATI don't have support for 1360, there would a massive uproar I'd come across on forums.

not a huge amount of people use lcdtv on pc other than for htpc purposes and if they do they end up using a 8600gt or so for purevideo hd etc.

but im using a x1950pro agp on 1360x768 rez and it works brilliant. im using vga input though cuz i wanted the added clarity and 1:1 pixel mapping.
