13900k not able to oc

So a friend called mr z cant overclock his 13900k at all without crashing, even a slight undervolt causes his games to crash.
Ai overclocking is also bad. Not even able to set p cores to 56 without crash.
Any advice you can give ?

How much checking has been done that it is stable at stock?

The motherboard is Z790?

asus hero z790 mobo. All games run fine at stock

the problem is if its stable at stock its doing what it say's on the box...

the first thing to do is

1, Bios update
2, reset bios and leave everything at stock, XMP can affect a CPU OC
3, reseat the CPU and cooler.
4, are you using an OC frame?

What temps are you seeing, what cooler are you using.

What is the SP rating from the Asus Hero ? sound like he may have a low SP chip ( 81- 92 ) , if so imagine he will have a hard time doing anything with it apart from stock and will likely be at high voltage for that . https://www.igorslab.de/en/intel-13...0-cpus-tested-part-1-i9-13900k-and-13900kf/2/
