Hi there, my friend is looking for a new PC.
Looking for a build of around £1400. It's primarily for 3D work, but also games.

He doesn't need a Case, Windows OS, Monitor, Mouse or Keyboard.
If it helps, the the GPU, the monitor will be running at 1440p.

Everything else is required. It's more about packing a punch than anything else and will be prettied up later, so no cable packs etc. needed :).

The case is the NZXT H440.

3D work is primarily in 3D Studio Max, but also gaming engines (Unreal, Unity and CryEngine.) Sorry about that :).

A 6-core CPU will help with this kind of work, the 4770k is another option. But most of those programs are CPU bound rather than GPU bound.

I included the Case too so it does look a little over budget.

Best to get a quad channel RAM kit for X79 rather than say a dual channel kit now and one later.

Better compatibility as they will be matched.
