Aerocool Streamliner 140mm Fan 19.6dba @ 1000rpm 54.7 CFM.
Is this fan good for a quiet pc because I am thinking of putting it in as a intake fan but will obviously have to modify the front of my case.

The specifications are almost certainly false, all manufacturers apart from Sharkoon lie (That I know of).

Just buy a slow spinning 120mm and save yourself the hassle.

I have got the space it will just about with 2mm each side plus cutting away most of the front of the chassis. But if it does perform well it will be worth it.
I will have to be careful not to sit to close as it might suck me in. :D

I have not got the cutters out yet :D
I just thought if I would see if anyone had bought one because as ZEFAN said dont believe manufacturers spec which I did when I bought a 120mmm Xilence fan.

thats a touch harsh

Panaflo, Delta, Yate-Loon, Nexus.. the list goes on...

but in fairness, most of the pc fans are over-rated, its easiest to look at the OEM suppliers stats, theyre more than likely correct :)

i have one in my case on an xp120, i don't really rate it that highly because it is such a thin fan it doesn't create that much pressure (20mm thick i think it is for a 140mm fan. if you are having to use the supplied adapter then i would go with a standard 120mm fan, but if you have space for it with little restrictions then why not. at 7v i can't hear it above my spinpoint.

Actually aerocool are one of the few companies (inc. yate loon, nexus and sharkoon) that do tell the truth. Or pretty close to it. There is a round up of 17 120mm fans and the aerocool is very slightly worse than the nexus which is highly regarded to be one of the best silent fans.

I suppose the best way to find out is to order one.
The fan will be connected to Akasa fan controller which I rarely have on maximum only on hot days (Which is not very often). I suppose that it also would depend on what case you have.
To be honest when I bought the case I was more interested in looks so it is never going to be silent unless I use acoustic material.Plus the fact that it only has space for a 80mm exhaust and side fan. Which cannot be modified even with a fan adapter. So the more air I feed in the better. :)

Aerocool 140mm delivered today.Just installed it with a lot of modification to the front of my case chassis by cutting away the standard 80mm fan grill completely to the size of the 140mm so there is no obstruction.
Performance is good and it is pretty quiet.
The fan is running at 600rpm and keeps my case around the 32 mark so noise is kept to a minimum.
The quality of the fan is a bit flimsy but for the price I cant complain.
