140mm vs 120mm?

Need a new fan that will sit on the slot over the graphics card, however I'm stuck deciding between a 140mm fan or 120mm? Which would shift the most air? Might be a no brainer but there's a lot more choice with the 120mm ones.

It doesnt really matter on the size its all about the amount of air that it can move. You can find 120mm fans that shift more air than 140mm and vice versa. Its just about choosing the right one and for the right price. And also which one is more quiet.

the apache's shift loads of air for only 16db so that might suit you. make sure you get a demciflex filter though

Agree, but if you dont mind less airflow, the 140mm Fractal only puts out 9db so its quiet.

Ideally you should choose a fan that is the same size as your heatsink as air that flows around the sink is mostly wasted.

So for a 90mm sink choose a 120mm fan (as they are actually around 112mm).

With that said I like 140mm fans because you get the same airflow but at less noise so I just buy 140mm heat sinks to go with them.
