14300 in 3d mark 2001

ok im on a lappy so i can sit infront of my pc in bios and ask a question: now my fsb is at 720 its qdr my mem is at 533 its ddr what should i set it to? just to clarifi :p y

this is exactly what my screen is infront of me:

New FSB Speed (QDR) [720]
Current FSB Speed (QDR) 720MHz

New MEM Speed (DDR) [533]
Current MEM Speed (DDR) [533]


so just change new one to 720....there is not need to calculate what qdr speed is in ddr right? im sorry i may seem to be dragging this out but i dont want to break/melt anything.....jus gimmie a YES and i'll change the MEM to 720

Yes, set it to 720. Sorry to confuse you with QDR, I guess they still refer to the speed as DDR in bios...nevermind.

Explanation:

This is DDR2 not DDR. DDR2 communicates externally at 4 times its base speed. CPU-Z wont report the 720mhz, it will say 180mhz instead, as it reports the internal speed of the memory before the quad data rate is applied.
 
ahhhhh okay i see thanks....right do you think i should feed the mem a tad more volts before i return to windows or do you reckon it will be okay?
 
If the machine isn't stable you can also relax the timings to 5-5-5-15 instead of 5-4-4-12 as the memory is overclocked at 720QDR (I think, not too much experience with DDR2)

667 to 720 isnt a huge jump, and DDR2 value kits clock much better than their DDR counterparts.

cheers buddy so jus leave the others on auto yeh? also im stability testing with memtest right? mate your a topbloke sorting me out, i feel like im at school lol

It can test cpu\memory stability as well. Memtest may pass, but thats no good if superpi cant complete a 32m calculation.
 
while i run superpi (at 1m) what were you saying about 720 not being a big jump...what would you recommend?

edit: best do a 32m test then
