Hi
Like many I am stuck in doors and find myself looking to game for the first time in over 6 years according to Steam and Origin. I didn't have a GFX as I gave away my GTX1070 to a Paramedic to "try" but never got it back and never saw a penny for it. He was ex forces too. So I reckon he deserves it.
I bought a 1660 Super last week to get me going again. It will do for now. My monitor is 1080P but very old and I have forgotten that the DVI port was bust. So I had connected the VGA to a HDMI adaptor. However whilst this works its far from perfect. I started Elite Dangerous for the first time and the cross hair thingy was about 3 inches to the right of the screen!
SO i have been doing much reading. I know 27" is my max size because it has to fit into a certain space, so height adjustable is a must too.
I would like 1440P so that I do not have to change the monitor for a good while. I will upgrade the rest of my rig when the next gen CPU's are out as it will mean new Mobo, Ram and cooler too.
Problem is there is no stock of this type of monitor around below £300 and that really has to be my limit.
Saving loads by staying home, but also been furloughed. So having to be sensible too.
I work for a Japanese Manufacturer with factories all over the world including 3 in China and I understand why availability is limited.
Assuming stock improves soon and it will, but the pricing will be higher as the GB£ against the US$ is the worst since WWII apparently. Adds at least 10% to the price since early Feb.
What monitors are there knocking about that suit my spec and munneh?
