I've just purchased a GTX 1080 so need to upgrade my monitor as it's only 1080p @ 60hz.

My preference is a 27" IPS with 2560 x 1440 @ 144hz. G-Sync too if that's recommended, not sure if needed or not.

Don't care about the aesthetics of it, just want a good quality panel.

Im in the same boat with same requirements but seems like these are currently the only options at 27' IPS, 2560x1440, 144hz and Gsync.

Back light bleed seems to be the biggest issue with IPS but affects all the screens but maybe someone with these screens can weigh in on this.

You can get monitors without Gsync and with Freesync (AMD cards only) for cheaper though. However it seems every post I have read favour having the tech.

Those are exactly what I'm looking for. Anyone have any input on the quality etc on them?

Oh and thanks for links!

Gsync is amazing, I would not buy a monitor without it, ofcourse if you have ATI card go for freesync.

G-Sync it is then!

I imagine 3440x1440 instead of 2560x1440 requires quite a bit more GPU power to run.

Out of all the ones I've seen, my preference is the Acer XB271HU. From what I've read, the Asus PG269Q has worse quality control issues, it costs over £100.00 more and has the same panel as the Acer. With that said, the Acer's quality control isn't MUCH better than the Asus, although apparently better. These issues are what's putting me off buying one.

Is the quality control really that bad? When you read around it sounds very bad (in that 90% of them are crap) but then people are more likely to complain/write about/leave a negative review if something is faulty than if it were good.

Do I go for it and hope I get a good panel or not bother? I don't know.

Good price that, wish I could find a XB271HU for £500.00, I'd buy one instantly. Still undecided atm!
