First post here, long time lurker. I'm after a bit of advice regarding 1440p monitors.

I'm looking to upgrade my build and go towards 1440p 144hz gaming. So, the ideal monitor would be 1440p 144hz G Sync and IPS with my budget being around £500. Now there are plenty of 27" monitors with these specs that I can find, but my issue is that anything bigger than a 25" monitor simply won't fit into me desk area.

So I'm in a bit of a dilemma, as soon as you go down to a 24" you lose the IPS panels. Having never owned an IPS panel, only ever owned TN panels, currently a 24" AOC which is fairly average, would this be a big issue?

Or am I missing some and is there any 24" IPS 1440p 144hz G Sync monitors :p

Oh and I should list my spec:

Gigabyte GA Z68
I5 2500k (stock) ( 212+ cooler)
16gb corsair ddr3
Gtx 970 msi
Xfx 700 psu
AOC 24"

I'm going to OC the i5 to either 4.2 or 4.5 soon, and the 970 will be replaced by a 1080ti.

24" 1440p is going to be hard on the eyes as 27" 1440p sometimes can be as Windows scaling is pants (20/20 or better vision here but it strains you over time).

Put up a picture of your desk right now, 27" curved fit?

I've attached a picture of where my current monitor is.

I had thought it wouldn't be ideal on a 24". I'm not sure if a curved would fit, I will try and see if I can find out the dimensions of a curved 1440p monitor.

i would not let a desk dictate screen as your buying an expensive item so best get it right 1st time and not regret later.

I just measured my 27"C and its 63cm (630mm).

I've not actually looked into curved screens before now, and judging by your measurements, then that would fit into my desk space.

Can you recommend any 27" 1440p 144hz G Sync IPS monitors? I'm probably asking for too much with that spec :D

I've had a quick Google and can find all what I want but they either aren't 144hz, 1440p or IPS.

Thanks.

I had the poor 27" 1440p TN's then IPS's so my fill gap now is a 27"C 1080p VA and its far better quality than the previous but a little blocky but as I got it for £212 instead of £400-500 it normally goes for I'm happy.

The Samsung Curved QLED HDR range (not proper HDR AFAIK) here that is new has a G-Sync model which has not been released yet, some peeps were talking about it in the Samsung QLED thread.

I'll check the Samsung thread out, although I'm guessing they will price that way out of my budget.

The closed I can find is a:
29.5" Acer Predator Z301C, Curved G-Sync, 144Hz, 21:9, 2560x1080

But then that isn't 1440p and not sure how that would work/look.

There's also:
27" Acer Predator, NVIDIA G-Sync, IPS, 3840x2160

...this has everything, but is only 60hz and not 14hz...I can't win, surely there's the perfect monitor out there somewhere.
