1440p g-sync monitor? That's not the ROG swift

Edit: Opps I mean ROG swift -_-

recently upgraded to a gtx 970 and feel I can do better than my 24" 1080p

I feel like 27" 1440p is the sweet spot for pixel density (thoughts?) as 4k on anything under 30+" would kill my eyes..

Is there ANY 1440p g-sync that's not 144hz? I feel paying a premium for the ROG swift wouldn't be worth it unless I go SLI and I don't have the budget for that

Or should I not bother with g sync?
Also, any argument for getting a non tn panel? I use ips in work and really do love the colours/blacks and viewing angles but is 5+Ms response a problem for fast paced games?

The response times from IPS would seem to be user dependent, so it would depend on you and your own perceptions.

In short, atm, its ROG Swift or nothing, it is premium priced, but as it is, its a one of a kind monitor, nothing else on the market boasts its feature set.

If you wait until OcUK get their next delivery of them the price should drop back down towards ~£620.

GSync is entirely worth bothering with, I would go as far as to say, when considering buying a new gaming monitor this should be one of the top priorities from a feature spec POV.

Guess I should load steam up on my macpro in work and see what I think of gaming on ips!

Any rumours in the wind on when we should expect to see alternatives to the swift?

Personally, I would sit tight until FreeSync monitors become available in Q1 2015.

By then we should also see the release of Display Port 1.3 monitors, for 4K 120hz support.

It's a tough call, but patience is the key.

I just feel that the price of the Swift is too high, give more time to competitors and emerging technologies to be adopted :)

hi, i have just purchased the swift and the difference in games is amazing had to throw my old 690 back in till i get sli 980s and do loop rebuild.
i play a lot of arma 2 multiplayer and the smoothness is incredible .
im extrenely happy with the swift and should last me a few yrs unless i see something else lol. i suffer from unnecessary pc upgrade syndrome.

That's interesting, are you saying my 690 can drive a swift ok, at 1440p

What sort of FPS are we talking? I play ESO, War of Thunder, Fifa 15. for example
