I've been biding my time for months waiting to see what Freesync is like and i'll most likely still wait until the summer before making a final decision.

Out of interest though which 1440p IPS monitor for £350ish would you buy today and why? Usage is pretty typical - general windows stuff, Youtube, occasionally movies and some gaming. I'm not a hardcore gamer by any means, mostly play Arma3, Football Manager, Cities Skylines, Total War games, Skyrim etc. Basically nothing terribly competitive or fast paced.

Ta.

Not sure I can really. Seems like a lot of cash for a 60hz non Freesync screen. £350 is already pushing my budget pretty hard. But as I say i'll probably wait until the summer anyway and see whats what :)

What about the Dell U2515H It's pretty much the same as the 27 mentioned above but 2 inches smaller and nearly £200 cheaper, still got very good reviews :)

This is exactly what I got recently, and I could not be happier. To be honset, I knew it was a great monitor from reviews, etc., but didn't expect it to be impresses like this as I am spoiled by Retina screens on the MacBook Pros.

I'm very very tempted to get one myself but I'm trying to hold out to see what the Freesync offerings are like.
I'm also trying to convince my IT department at work that I need 2 of them as well :)

The 25" Dell does sound good, TFTCentral give it a really good review. My only concern would be reading text and stuff.

Push the budget out a bit and get a Dell U2715H, gorgeous monitor. :)

+1

I recently bought this Monitor myself and it's fantastic, although I do have a very minimal amount of light bleed in the top left corner. It does not bother me in the slightest though :)

Or as suggested the 25" Dell though I understand you're waiting for a Freesync monitor.

I just figure i might as well wait until the summer and see what happens. Cant really wait any longer than that though.

Waiting is the most sensible thing to do. UHD monitors are just rolling out, they'll be moving towards the mainstream soon, and things are starting to become interesting in the monitor space again.

I can highly recommend the ASUS PB278QR. £380 and absolutely brilliant. Although this is now FreeSync or Adaptive Sync compatible (You need DP1.2a) but the upcoming MG279Q looks promising.

I didn't really notice but it was a very quick play as I got back late. I will have a proper inspection at the weekend.

EDIT - just had a look at a black screen on this monitor. I can notice some bleeding the lower right/left hand corner but personally it's really not that noticeable/bothersome. A lot more positives than negatives with this monitor :D
