I've been after getting a new monitor for some time now, running an old 29" ultrawide 1080P IPS monitor for what must be 5 years now.
Originally I was eying up 4K but I was advised that when gaming the difference in display frequency is better than an increase in resolution, additionally I'm only rocking a 980ti.
In terms of gsync and freesync I would prefer a gsync compatible monitor so when I move on from the 980ti I can run with whichever card I get.
The games I play are mostly horror, simulation, strategy and a single player first persons like Wolfenstein & Doom. Because I play a lot in the dark the blacks, contrast and having no or very little backlight bleed is important to me
If anyone's still reading after that wall of text and could recommend what monitors I should be looking at and what panel type for around the £300-350 max range would be great.
