1440p Monitor recommendations

I've been looking at 1440p monitors but can't seem to find the one that fits my needs. I'm willing to spend up to £600 on one but it has to be fit for Photoshop/design AND games.

I'm not a competitive gamer but I do occasionally play FPS games. I find my current Prolite E2407HDSD running at 60Hz perfectly acceptable so I'm not looking for ridiculous performance.

So are there any 1440p monitors out there that won't be noticeably worse playing games than my E2407HDSD?

All new reviews of monitors seem to mention pretty poor 'overshoot ghosting' times but as I don't know how much my current monitor is affected by this I can't make a decision if I'll notice this that much. Does anyone have any performance specs of my E2407HDSD so I can make some comparisons?

I might hold out for an Asus ROG Swift PG278Q but I think this will be overkill and may be too expensive when it's finally released. I think I perhaps need something in-between this and the current Samsung based IPS screens.

Any ideas?

The main reason for the upgrade is work so the extra pixels are important but I don't want to wreck my gaming experience in the process.

I think you need to decide what's most important, photoshop/design OR games.
The ROG Swift is supposedly another TN panel so I imagine it won't be any good for photoshop/design.

Yeah, that's one of the IPS displays I have in my sights. Depending on the review, the ghosting time on that is between 12ms and 19ms. If it's 12ms it might be worthwhile going for it. Any more then I reckon the ghosting will be too noticeable.

These are the ones in my shortlist but depending on the review, the order of preference changes. It doesn't help that I need reasonably decent colour accuracy as well as speed.

TN's I can cope with so long as they have flexible colour adjustment controls. My current E2407HDSD is good enough for my work in terms of colour accuracy so I'm happy to compromise there a little so long as I get the 1440p resolution. The trouble is, I haven't seen a TN 1440p display yet.

I would say I'm in a similar position to you. I have read so many reviews and in the end for me it comes down to either the ViewSonic VP2770 (60hz, 27inch, 1440p) or the Eizo Foris FG2421 (120hz, 23.5inch, 1080p). I still cant decide what I want more.

Just to comment on my experiences with the Iiyama - lovely screen, had it for the last couple of months and yet again its going back to Iiyama for terrible backlight bleed - I have been through about 8-10 of them now I have lost count, its a really bright, colourful screen thats good for everything. Its a lottery if you get one with little or acceptable backlight bleed - all monitors seem to have this issue, but the Iiyama is pretty bad when its bad - if you can put up with/cope with/handle some then you will be fine, I have been unlucky and gone through a fair few.

Good luck choosing!
