1440p on a gtx 970

Hi all,
Need some help, I've just brought the 8 pack i5 6400 bundle and a gtx 970 G1 windforce. I now been a monitor to run it all on. Will this run a 1440p for most gaming titles smoothly or am I looking for a 1080p monitor.
Would like to spend less than £400 really.

It'll run most games at 1440p, but when you start adding AA it begins to struggle.

Truthfully though only it's a complete waste to add AA when you hit 1440/4K

You should be ok @1440p i can run most games perfectly well with my overclocked gtx 780 and like BluesFanUK says AA is not really needed or at least at a very low level like 2x AA

1440p is awesome for desktop stuff so even if you have to turn a few settings down in game, it'll be worth it.

Gigabyte Xtreme 970 and Asus Swift 1440p G-Sync. All my games run very smooth. You'll be happy

Also running 1440p on a single (OC'd and watercooled) 970. Don't play any AAA games but on the ones I do play it is great.

You'll be fine on a 970.
