Hi all

I'm just looking for more information as to what is a better choice.... I see people going for 24' 1080p 144hz monitors but then others go for 27' 1440p 60hz, what is the better one if there is a better one?

I'm guessing if you're a FPS Gamer then 144hz but if you're more of a Sim etc Gamer then 1440p for visuals, am I correct?

Cheers

For everyday use not just games
27 inch 1440p gets my vote
It's a horses for courses thing really
If you only play certain games then yes higher hz is good
Other games more real estate is good
For 2 Web pages or documents etc
27 you can fully get them side to side
No scrolling around needed

Yeah mostly PUBG, FIFA and ETS2 but I want to get into some new games

27" 1440 144hz :)

What sort of budget we talking for these?

Starting from £260 for VA.

£300 for IPS

Lots of people buy horribly overpriced medieval FoolsD resolution marketing scams.
(worser resolution than previous standard for the size)

Cheers bud, I like the AOC one, i will be in the market for a new monitor in a month or so... I want something thats a step up from my ACER S240HL 60hz

@EsaT is spot on.

You can get a a good IPS/Freesync/144hz/1440P at 27" for £300, you can also get an excellent 165Hz IPS of the same specs for around £400.

VA models of the same size and refresh rate were going for around £250 or so.

Problem at the moment is everything is out of stock or the prices are going up.

After few days with 2560x1440 you don't want to touch that old crap, except with properly heavy blunt instrument...

Yeah i realised a lot of stock is not available :( I think when it comes to it i'll have about £250 to get a nice monitor and hopefully there will be plenty to choose from
