Can anyone advise if a 780 OC edition will be able to manage 2560 x 1440 res for gaming at decent FPS (i.e. no lag) with reasonably high settings?

Aha!

I note that you have virtually the same build as me, how is your 780 spacing on the board? Any heatsoak issues?

Mine are both on water so not really, it was abit awkward joining them together though due to the spacing,

First card runs on a full load around 38c and second card is around 36c

I currently play at 2560x1440, to give you an idea Metro LL with everything maxed on one 780 gave me around 45fps and with sli on it's closer to 110fps.

Excellent, good to know. Thanks for the info - considering SLI, but my card is a 3-slotter, so the other 780 would be approx. 5-10mm away from the next - not ideal, sadly.

With good airflow across them you should be ok if you ever did go for a second card, could always get a 2-slotter for the top and fit your 3-slotter lower down.

Would feel like a waste as it is the Inno3D 780 Hercules model - overclocked to 1GHz standard, although in SLI, the slave card downclocks to the master doesn't it?
