Talking 27inch monitors here....Never seen a 1440p screen gaming but surely it can't be "that" much better on a 27in than 1080p on the same size panel?
On desktop etc yeah, extra space but does it really make much difference in games? Couldn't you get the same definition on a 1080p with AA ?

it so is.... cant really explain more lol.
if you have 1080 monitor now. run a game in 720 then go back to 1080. its the same jump to 1440.

the desktop is a problem for me.i have to set zoom on web pages and so on. but for films and games is fantastic

The clarity and detail levels when gaming (with decent settings) far supasses anything a Full HD model of similar size can achieve. Anti-aliasing smoothes out edges quite nicely, but it is no substitute for superior pixel density. As others have touched upon, the advantages are difficult to put into words and it's something which has to be seen to be believed. That's one of the reasons that article of mine linked to doesn't really go into detail about how games look better in WQHD. I could update it to say a little bit more about it, but nothing compares to seeing it for yourself.

I can't say I was totally knocked out by 1440p on a 27". It looks ok but it's not so outstandingly sharp that you have to pick your jaw up off the floor. I imagine 1080p will look fairly ropey at 27", in which case get a 24" model at that resolution that runs at 144hz or with your preferred frame sync product added in.
